RRB Group D Application Date Extended – Check Details

The Railway Ministry has extended the RRB Group D 2025 application deadline to March 9, 2026. Candidates can pay fees until March 11, while the correction window will remain open from March 12 to March 21.

If you’ve been stressing about missing the boat on the RRB Group D applications, you can take a breather. The Railway Ministry just pushed back the deadlines for the CEN 09/2025 cycle, which is a massive relief considering there are over 22,000 Level 1 jobs on the line.

The New Deadlines You Need to Know

Basically, they’ve shifted everything back by a week.

  • The absolute cutoff to apply: You now have until 11:59 PM on March 9, 2026. My advice? Don’t leave it until the last minute because the servers always get jammed up on the final day.
  • Paying the fee: If you get your application in but need a bit more time to arrange the cash, they are giving you until March 11 to finalize the payment.
  • Scribe details: If you’re a candidate who needs a scribe for the exam, that specific registration window has moved to March 22 through March 26.

Fixing Mistakes

We all typo things occasionally. If you realize you messed up your form, there’s a correction window running from March 12 to March 21. You will have to pay a small fee to make edits, but there is a major catch: you cannot change the initial details you used to create your account, and you absolutely cannot change the Railway zone you picked. Whatever zone you select on day one is the one you are locked into.

How the Fees (and Refunds) Work

The payment setup is actually pretty clever because they want to make sure people actually show up for the exam rather than just applying and forgetting about it.

  • General applicants: You pay ₹500 upfront. But, once you actually walk in and take the computer-based test, they refund ₹400 straight back to your bank account.
  • Reserved categories: If you are SC, ST, an ex-serviceman, female, transgender, a minority, or from an economically backward class, your upfront fee is only ₹250. The best part? You get that entire ₹250 refunded after you sit for the test.

The Eligibility Catch

The dates shifted, but the rules didn’t. You still need to be between 18 and 33 years old.

But here is the most important part to pay attention to: even though you have until March 9 to apply, you must have completed all your required schooling or technical training by the original deadline, which was March 2. If your graduation or certification results are coming out after March 2, you unfortunately won’t qualify for this specific round.
