What is CUET — And Why It Matters for Delhi Students?
CUET UG is a national-level entrance examination for admission to courses like BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, BCA, integrated programmes and other professional courses. CUET admissions are based on CUET UG score, subject combination eligibility and university-specific eligibility criteria.
Every year more than 9 lakh candidates register and appear for CUET UG exam, making it the largest undergraduate entrance examination for central universities in India.
For Delhi students specifically — a good CUET score is the gateway to Delhi University (DU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Jamia Millia Islamia and 500+ other universities across India. Without CUET, there is no DU admission.
CUET 2026 Eligibility — Who Can Apply?
Candidates must have completed Class 12 or be appearing in 2026 from a recognised board. Minimum marks required: 45% for General category, 40% for SC/ST/OBC. There is no age restriction for CUET.
Indian nationals are eligible. Foreign nationals, NRIs, OCIs and PIOs can also apply for CUET UG.
Reservation Benefits Apply:
Reservations follow Government of India norms — 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, 10% for EWS and 5% for PwD in participating universities as per policy.

Delhi Govt’s FREE Coaching for CUET — The Scheme You Must Know
This is the announcement that makes this DoE calendar release especially significant for government school students.
The Mahamana Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya Vidya Shakti Mission was approved by the Delhi government in December 2025 as part of its efforts to strengthen access to higher education for government school students. Cleared by the Cabinet, the scheme was introduced to provide structured academic support for national-level entrance examinations such as CUET, JEE, NEET and CLAT, addressing the gap faced by students who cannot afford private coaching.
Under the scheme, students receive free coaching, study material, mock tests and mentoring to prepare for CUET. After appearing in CUET, eligible students can apply to undergraduate courses across participating institutions based on their scores, with the programme also guiding them through the admission and counselling process.
In simple terms — if you are a Delhi government school student who cannot afford expensive private CUET coaching, the Delhi government is now offering you completely free coaching with study material, mock tests and mentoring. This is a game-changer for lakhs of students.
